Night whispers secrets I can't contain,
A restless river flowing through my veins.
Eyes heavy, yet the mind won't cease,
Chasing shadows in the dark's release.

Dreams slip softly out of grasp,
Fading like echoes, memories clasp.
Lonely hours stretch and strain,
A silent ache, a quiet pain.

I long for sleep’s gentle arms to hold,
To drift away from stories untold.
But here I lie, awake, alone,
Caught in the ache of dreams unknown.
